Yoshi,
Congress is clearly worried. For example, "Two GOP senators call for Idaho Sen. Larry Craig's resignation" http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-070829craig,0,7998893.story?coll=chi_mezz

With all that time wasted, no wonder Congress is worried about how people behave in airport bathrooms.
Congress doesn't - however the Mpls-Stp airport police force does and its not funded by congress. So poor attempt at a cheap shot there...

Another issue is not the inconvenience to passengers for wasted time. It's about the air of unreality at TSA. Does anyone believe that TSA will actually check the names of ALL those passgengers to find the supposed terrorist before the plane lands? And you forgot to mention (unless the policy has changed very recently) that Saudi Arabia (the home of the largest number of terrorists) is exempt from this requirement. It pays to have friends at the White House, I guess.
