Thanks for the review and I look forward to getting a copy. There is another person that deals with the concept of visualizing data. His name is Edward R. Tufts and he's worth the effort to attend one of his lectures if your not fortunate enough to attend Yale. For many years I have turned to his writings for clarification and I have three books by him that I would recommend on the subject of visualization:
Visual Explanations
Envisioning Information
The Visual Display of Quantitative Information
While these deal with information display in visualizing as communications, they are not specific to security per se.
This is why I look forward to Applied Security Visualization.

Adam,
This is a nice, concise review. I've been anticipating Raffy's book since I first heard about it, but I'm still waiting for it to arrive from my preferred bookseller (D'oh!). DAVIX, the data viz LiveCD, is worth checking out. It's convenient to have many data analysis and visualization tools (mostly) pre-configured and in one place. There are a few reviews of DAVIX beta floating around the 'net, but I'd be interested to see what your take is on the "final" product.
Cheers,
Zach
