		<description>Am I the only person who&#039;s noticed that Twitter is losing money and lots of it? They admit as much and yet &quot;Biz&quot; Stone remains unrepentant and bullish.
Surely, unless Google or some other giant buys it, one day (perhaps soon) it&#039;s going to go pop when the money men pull the plug. Surely Twitter is another (and to me, irritating) example of hype over money over substance: like Lastminute.com which failed to make a bean until (IIRC) the founders actually left. I&#039;m sure others could find more examples.

		<description>I just made a new post on the Sub-Time Crisis in Web 2.0. Some quotes
The worst case scenario for Web 2.0 is that we are heading for a singularity, precipitated by dividing our attention into informational units effectively rated at zero content.
It is clear that we are building social computing structures that we do not comprehend. Social computing joins two areas that have the potential for massive scaling - computing technology and social interaction. The Sub-Time crisis lies at this intersection.
The point is that we face a disinterested informational adversary, that for the foreseeable future operates in a scale-free environment. In the information battle we have some sharp spears with occasional impressive horseback riding. However our adversary has the power to create a data mushroom cloud. Your best fallout shelter is abstinence.

		<description>I&#039;ve never seen a discussion, demo or application of Twitter that made we want to use it. It&#039;s hard enough finding sources of mostly-formed thoughts in blogs that are well considered and worth reading. Flooding the world with stream of consciousness is a bit like being a telepath without the ability to filter out the surface thoughts of others.
It appears to be based around the central conceit that &quot;I am interesting enough that people will want to know what I am doing at every second of the day&quot;. I&#039;ve considered joining only to use a bot that randomly sends out snippets of what most people &lt;em&gt;really&lt;/em&gt; do all day: &quot;staring off into space... trying to remove that speck on the toilet bowel with urine stream... hiding behind monitor to pick nose... removing belly button lint... smelling lint... failing to find free porn that&#039;s worth a damn... masturbating to memories of my freshman math TA...&quot;
